“You’re involved in helping to make the most difficult decisions” – Simon Leaf interviewed by The Guardian
Three Points co-founder Simon Leaf spoke to The Guardian about his experience working as a sports and technology lawyer in an interview published on 18th November 2025. Read the full conversation here.
Simon talks about his experience acting for a footballer diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and advising on his possible options: “To get the results with him, to talk him through his options, to try to guide him through that process was a truly humbling experience”.
The article also outlines Simon’s route to the law before founding Three Points; and his day-to-day work, including acting pro bono for young and vulnerable clients.
He also discusses the growing overlap between sports and technology matters, including in determining liability during disputes. “Almost every deal we do now has a tech or intellectual property or data angle to it,” Simon says. “Be it a player transfer or the big sponsorship and broadcasting deals.”
The Guardian’s interview with Simon comes following widespread coverage of Three Points’ launch across The Lawyer, City AM, Financial Times and other national and legal publications.
