Legal team behind some of the UK’s largest technology and sports transactions in recent years launch Three Points Law

LONDON, [21] October 2025 – Simon Leaf and Tom Murray, leading sports, tech and commercial lawyers with over 25 years’ experience at top international firms, are the founding partners of Three Points, a pioneering tech-enabled law firm that will seamlessly integrate artificial intelligence and cutting-edge technologies throughout every client engagement. The firm is positioned to serve a diverse portfolio of clients, from established technology businesses to high-profile sports professionals and entrepreneurs.

01. Background

Three Points launches with more than a dozen founder clients including well-established international technology suppliers and fast growth media and real estate businesses, through to high-profile athletes, football clubs and entrepreneurs.

From the outset, the firm is integrating AI platform Legora and Qanooni into its service delivery. Combined with operational innovation within the Excello Law’s House of Brands platform, this enables Three Points to move beyond the hourly rate model for a more value-driven legal offering for clients.

“We’re building a firm that is fit for the future and one that will focus on three of the fastest-moving areas of business and law: tech, sports and commercial,” said Simon Leaf, Founding Partner of Three Points and former Head of Sport and Co-Lead of the Technology Transactions group at Mishcon. “While we have historically been recognised for our high-profile sports work acting for the world’s best athletes and teams, we have developed a successful track record for advising on some ground-breaking tech and commercial law matters, which also evidences the increasing convergence of these three focus areas.”

Simon and Tom’s recent work in these areas includes advising on the legal framework behind the UK’s most powerful AI supercomputer, acting on the contractual framework to host, broadcast and commercially some of the biggest boxing fights in Saudi Arabia, and working on significant management agreements including those for large parts of the West End and beyond. They are also legal advisors to several very well-known athletes that operate across the world of football, motorsport and boxing.

02. Pioneering use of technology

Technology sits at the heart of Three Points’ service delivery. The firm partners with among others, Legora, a cutting-edge legal AI platform, to deliver faster, more accurate and cost-effective legal advice, and Qanooni, who have recently entered the UK market.

“As a new firm born in the AI era and unencumbered by legacy systems, we can deliver work faster, be more efficient and collaborate effectively in line with our clients’ needs ” explained Tom Murray, Founding Partner. “This technological foundation enhances rather than replaces the human element of our profession and has already helped Three Points secure mandates from some of Europe’s most exciting tech and creative businesses.”

Alex Fortescue-Webb, Head of UK&I at Legora, commented:

“The Three Points team has an outstanding track record of advising on significant technology and sports transactions, regulatory matters, and supporting fast-growing legal technology businesses. We are delighted to partner with the firm to showcase how Legora can empower firms and lawyers across the legal sector.”

03. Social Responsibility

The firm has also been founded as a sustainable, community-minded enterprise and will commit at least 5% of its billing time and/or profits each year to charitable initiatives and community causes. This reflects the partners’ extensive history of pro bono work. Simon was recently listed on the Law Society’s inaugural Pro Bono Recognition List and in recent times has worked particularly closely on a pro bono basis with a number of organisations, such as Bloomsbury Football Foundation, a charity that uses the power of football to improve the lives of over 5,000 young people every week. They will become a Founding Charity Partner on the launch of Three Points. Charlie Hyman, Founder and CEO of Bloomsbury commented:

“Simon and Tom have been generous supporters of Bloomsbury Football Foundation for many years, demonstrating a genuine commitment to our mission of transforming young people’s lives through football. When they told us about Three Points and the vision to embed social responsibility at the heart of the firm, we didn’t hesitate and jumped at the opportunity to become a Founding Charity Partner. Their dedication to giving back isn’t just words on paper; it’s something we’ve witnessed first-hand through years of partnership. We’re excited to continue this journey with them and to see the positive impact Three Points will have on communities alongside their impressive list of technology, commercial and sports clients.”
