Tom is a sports, tech and commercial lawyer with almost a decade of experience advising international athletes, global technology suppliers and innovative commercial businesses. His clients include international athletes, agents, teams, event organisers, sponsors, technology suppliers and customers.

- Drafting and advising on the contractual framework to host, broadcast and commercially exploit the Rage on the Red Sea World Heavyweight Championship bout between Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
- Advising Marcus Rashford in respect of his agreements opposite Manchester United, Aston Villa and FC Barcelona as well as commercial partnerships and image rights arrangements.
- Representing an F1 driver on his driver agreement alongside multiple sponsorship and endorsement deals and successfully defending the Former Joint Administrators of the Force India Formula One Team in High Court litigation.
Technology
- Advising a multinational information technology company in respect of a £1.2billion collaboration with the Met Office to use enhance supercomputing capabilities to better predict the weather and improve climate change modelling.
- Acting as principal counsel to international SaaS businesses, drafting SaaS templates, producing technology collaboration agreements and advising on disputes.
- Advising a global technology supplier in respect of a £225m partnership to develop the UK’s most powerful supercomputer, built to harness the potential of AI in climate research, drug discovery, big data and robotics.
Commercial
- Advising a global esports tournament operator on a multi-year collaboration with Epic Games to run their prestigious competitive tournaments in Fortnite and Rocket League.
- Supporting the family of the late Gianluca Vialli, in respect of his inclusion as an FC 24 Hero in Electronic Arts’ EA Sports FC which included designs produced by Marvel Studios.
- Acting for a leading water supplier on their daily operations, including in respect of multi-million dollar sponsorship agreements.
Expertise, Publications and Media
Tom has a particular focus on the financial regulation of sport, having co-authored the Financial Regulation and Financial Fair Play chapter of Nick de Marco KC’s Football and the Law. He regularly contributes to thought leadership on the topic, having featured on Blackstone Chambers’ The Sports Law Podcast and Kieran Maguire’s The Price of Football podcast. He regularly advises football clubs on their compliance with financial regulations.
